The end of October has been a busy month. We had to get the house done before the fall show and after two weeks of working late nights, we finally finished.
Chip has a very good eye when it comes to landscape. In fact, when Chip and I first started dating he owned his own landscape company. He lets me do what I want on the inside and I let him do what he wants on the out! He did a wonderful job landscaping the farmhouse... I love this magnolia tree!
We planted our fall garden and are ready to get back into the whole gardening routine. I probably planted 10 lavender plants and twenty kale plants- Fall gardens are the best!
It took 1 large Uhaul and 5 box trucks full of goodies to get everything to the farmhouse for my big Fall show. I set up for about a week in my empty house and priced and displayed all night long. I loved being at the house setting up at night, I didn't want to leave.
Sweet friends, my sisters and niece all came to help with set up. Towards the end I was losing steam so I was thankful for those of you who came out and helped!
The morning of the show I was overjoyed and I couldn't wait for it to start. It has been a long year and a half of putting this home together and the fall show was a way of celebrating the completion of our house with so many clients, friends, and customers. It had rained all week and it was so muddy, but on the morning of the show the sun came out and it was just perfect.
So fun to work with family. I love these girls!
Couldn't have made it through the fall show without the help of a few close friends. THANK YOU for all your help (Cassie and Abby thank you too!)
At 9am it was go time and in rolled the customers. Chip was using the bobcat to make sure no one got stuck in the mud!
I got to meet so many new friends at the show and readers on my blog. I felt so humbled that so many of you would take a road trip to come visit the farm. Thank you for your support and I can hardly wait for the next show!
By 8pm we were cleared out and everything had sold. I honestly couldn't believe it and I will learn my lesson next time and order MORE cake plates, trays, and other fun finds that we ran out of so fast. That experience was so fun for Chip and me, and we felt so loved by so many of you. My mind is already starting to plan the next show, I told Chip I wanted a big white barn in the middle of the field. Maybe the Spring Show 2014 will be in the Magnolia Farms Barn... stay tuned!
We celebrated my little girls 7th birthday this weekend. With all the filming and the fall show I felt maxed out on anything creative. My sweet friend Alissa took the entire party on herself and whipped up this cute picnic party. SO thoughtful.
She did all the design and graphics for the party. Check her out at Oh Ollie Paperworks.
Filming is going well. The next two weeks we are going to try and juggle moving in to the farmhouse, complete the first round of homes and stage four houses for the network. It really doesn't seem possible when I think about it which is why I have to choose to rely on God more than ever in this season. I need an extra measure of grace! This journey is extremely challenging but it is super exciting so I can't complain.
On the other hand, watching Chip pose for the HGTV website is easy and fun. I can't wait for you to see these homes we are renovating for the network in the Spring. The transformations are dramatic and we love the clients we get to work with.
We moved a couple pieces in to the farmhouse tonight. I sat on the couch upstairs and enjoyed my view of the ceiling and chandelier.
The boy's bunkbeds are one of my favorite things in the house. The kids play on these like it is a jungle gym. If I could, I would keep going and going on the metal piping. I just love it.
I don't think the kids understand that we are about to be out at the farm for good. I think they assume it is just a place we go after school and leave right before it gets dark. It will be weird finally staying out there but I can hardly wait for the first night!
These six have been behaving well since I threatened them last week. They are looking forward to us moving out there as well. You gotta keep a close eye on this crew.
Until the next post, have a great week!
